Hi, I’m Deepesh, but you already know that from the homepage. You’re here for more. Apart from what you now know, I like to tweak and customize software (a lot), reverse engineer it, replicate API clients, automate things, dive deep into its mechanics, etc. Yes, that probably means I use Arch. You may find some of these ventures in my blog, apps or GitHub. I’m not into politics, except when it comes to software politics. What can be enshittified, will be, especially if there’s money involved; which is why I wholeheartedly and actively support free software. Open source isn’t enough, in my opinion, which is why I also like the idea of copyleft.
It began twelve years ago when school introduced me to LOGO, my first programming language, and then Quick BASIC. I soon learned the basics of programming and started writing fairly sophisticated code, made Sudoku in QBASIC, lost it to a corrupted hard disk, and then switched to Java because I had a book on me. That got me hooked. I still remember the good ol’ days of DrJava and Netbeans. Being the first high-level general-purpose language still in good use today, I have a soft spot for Java. It remained my primary language for years before C# stole it.
Some other interests of mine are photography, some cinematography, and artboard-style work. Outside of computers, I’m an avid reader, an avid eater, and a lone wolf who likes stargazing. I mostly read technical books, articles and newsletters, and occasionally other things. If you wanna talk, collaborate, or plan a heist, hit me up! I’m up for (almost) anything.
That’s me, mostly. Now, back to what you were doing.
See ya.
